Conversing

Rory and I are having a conversation. And I feel like I need to reproduce it here, because I'm finding it very amusing.

Rory: (sweetly) Mom? Mom mom? Cocoa? Cocoa please?
Me: Oh, would you like some cocoa?
Rory: (murmuring and waggling her fingers excitedly) Cocoa.
Me: Okay, hang on one minute (busies herself preparing cocoa).
Me: Say, "thank you!"
Rory: Dank du.
Me: Eat your kiwi, and grapes.
Rory: (concentrates on cocoa, ignores kiwi and grapes)
Rory: (holds out empty sippy cup)
Me: Let me get you some water, Love.
Rory: (concerned) cocoa?
Me: (presents Rory with water)
Rory: (Points emphatically at cocoa mix on shelf) Mom. Mom mom mom mom.
Me: (firmly) you've had enough cocoa for now. Drink your water and eat your kiwi.
Rory: (Realizes sweet words and batting eye lashes will not work) No no. Die? Cocoa? No!
Me: (Tends to other duties in the kitchen)
Rory: Mo' p-lss (translation: more please).
Me: (Heart melts) No more cocoa, baby, but would you like a cookie?
