A 'Stache Bash for Bash!

We decided months ago that Sebastian's first birthday would be a 'stache bash. How could we pick something different for our own little Bashy boy? Much time was spent scouring pinterest and google hunting for 'stache bash inspiration. I wanted mustaches, but I didn't want a "little gentleman" party, and most mustache parties for kiddos seemed to involve neckties and little man paraphernalia. I did find some great ideas though, and came up with some other things on my own. This will be tedious if you were in attendance; I'm posting this just to throw out some ideas for other people planning 'stache bashes!

This was simple to make- little flipcards with the 'stache on the outside and the man's name on the inside.
Bash demonstrating some well-known mustache looks.
The pretty loose color scheme was black, white, and royal blue.
We stuck some 'staches to a mirror so guests could "try on" mustaches.

Food ideas for a 'stache bash aren't very intuitive. I could have just served things in the shape of a mustache, but that would have been pretty limiting. I came up with the idea to make an appetizer from a country that is famous for its mustaches! I made labels with a picture of a typical 'stache from each location.

We found "Wooly Willys" at Michaels on clearance. They were a fun diversion!
Since we figured not everyone would want to walk around with a 'stache of their own all afternoon, we ordered finger tattoos so everyone could be subtly 'stached.
Bash loved his 'stache smash cake.
It was a super fun way to celebrate our little guy and his first birthday!

Bashy's Birthday Happenings!

We celebrated Bash's birthday with a tiny celebration with family on the day itself and a larger party with friends the following weekend. We believe that first birthday parties are really for the parents, since the baby couldn't care less anyway. Here are some pictures of the events surrounding the big day!
Bash, wearing Blake's old baseball jammies!
Exciting birthday basketball hoop!
Classic Sebastian
Slippers!
We painted with pudding for a birthday snack!
Exciting dangling ribbons
We went to the mall play place to play!
Special birthday dinner: homemade mac and cheese with hotdog, broccoli, and tater tots
Loving his new tractors from Gramma and Grampa
Since I'm still doing no white flour and refined sugars, we had a birthday sugarless pumpkin custard! It wasn't all that good, but the whipped cream was :)

I'm doing a separate post on the components of the 'stache bash to put on pinterest, but here are a few shots!

Happy 1st Birthday Bashy Boy!

We're celebrating Sebastian today! It's hard to believe that he's already a whole year old. We just love our sweet, snugly, mischievous, twinkly-eyed, dimpled, stoic, silly little man so much! It's been so much fun watching him grow and trying to figure out what makes him tick. His sister makes her feelings pretty clear; Bash is more of an enigma. His personality is becoming more and more clear, and we couldn't be more thrilled with our cutie boy.

We love you Bud-o!!!
